Terms of use

Last updated

These terms cover your use of Glidepath at glidepath.cloud. They are written to be read, not skimmed: each section says what it means for you. Questions go to [contact email].

Who runs Glidepath

Glidepath is run by [operator name], [operator address or location]. When these terms say "we", that is who they mean.

What Glidepath is, and what it is not

Glidepath is a study and practice aid for people who fly Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on a console and are heading toward real flight training. Short narrated lessons explain one idea at a time, you check what you remember, then you fly a short session plan in your sim and rate yourself.

Glidepath is not flight training and we are not a flight school. Simulator practice doesn't award qualifications, doesn't count as flight time or replace an instructor. Nothing in a lesson, a check or a session plan is instruction for operating a real aircraft. For real flying, follow your instructor, the aircraft's handbook and the regulations where you fly.

Your self-ratings are your own. They are not an assessment by us or by an instructor, and we never present them as one.

Your account

You can try lessons without an account. To keep your progress and log, you sign in with your email address and a one-time code we email you; there is no password. Keep access to that email address secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you.

One account per person, and the email address must be yours. You must be at least [minimum age, suggested 13] years old to create an account. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to read these terms with you.

Using Glidepath fairly

You agree not to:

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. We will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Lessons, sources and licenses

Lesson scripts, scenes, session plans and the Glidepath name and mark belong to [operator name] unless a source says otherwise. Check answers cite the FAA handbooks they come from; those handbooks are public-domain works of the United States government and are not ours.

The 3D aircraft and cockpit come from the FlightGear c172p model under the GPL, and the narration is synthetic speech read from scripts we wrote. The full list of sources, licenses and attributions is on About and sources.

Glidepath is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft, the FAA, Cessna or Garmin.

Your data

What we collect, why, who processes it and how to delete it are in the privacy policy. The short version: your email, your setup, your lesson progress and your practice log; no ads, no trackers.

Changes and availability

Glidepath is new and will change. We may add, edit or remove lessons and features, and we may pause or stop the service. If a change to these terms matters to you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. Continuing to use Glidepath after that means you accept the updated terms.

No warranty, and limits on liability

Glidepath is provided as it is, without a promise that it is complete, accurate, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose. Lesson content can contain mistakes; a check answer is a study aid, not an authority.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using or being unable to use Glidepath, including decisions you make in a simulator or in a real aircraft. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not let us limit.
